When and where do swimmers need to be in Croatia?

Swimmers must be in Cavtat (Dubrovnik, Croatia) on September 28th and cannot leave Cavtat (Dubrovnik, Croatia) until October 3rd. The nearest airport is Dubrovnik (DBV, Croatia). From Dubrovnik Airport to Cavtat it is a 9-minute drive.

Accommodation

Swimmers will need to make a reservation from September 28th to October 3rd in Cavtat (Dubrovnik, Croatia). There are many hotels and apartments in Cavtat. You can search on booking.com or airbnb.com.

Challenge methodology

Among the 24 swimmers registered for the challenge, Neda el Món will make, based on their speeds and their fitness during the face-to-face trainings in Barcelona, 6 groups of 4, 5 or 6 swimmers with the same swimming level and who will swim together during the challenge. Exactly the same methodology Neda el Món use to make the groups to cross the Strait of Gibraltar.

What day will we cross?

The first day available to swim will be September 29. Neda el Món will decide based on the wind, wave and current forecast which day of the week the challenge will be attempted. A daily group training session of 2k swim will be organized in the days leading up to the crossing.

Boarding

On the day of the crossing, the swimmers will be transported by road to Beach Vitaljina and there all embarked to the starting point of the respective crossings. Neda el Món will also decide the departure time based on the weather forecast.

Direction and starting point

The crossing will normally start at Montenegro towards Croatia, but it can be modified depending on the forecast of winds and currents. Every 45 minutes there will be a quick stop (1 minute) for feeding.
