Bonifacio3

This 2024 has been the third year that Neda el Món has accompanied swim addicts to cross the Strait of Bonifacio. In 3 years, 49 swim addicts have already crossed between Corsica and Sardinia with us. In fact, 49 swimmers out of 49 attempted: 100% efficiency! Work well done pays off and the programme prepared by Neda el Món 6 months before the crossing is a guarantee for swimmers of all levels, from the fastest to the slowest. Also the fact that, differently than in Gibraltar, all the groups can cross on the same day, means that from the 4 days we are in Santa Teresa di Gallura (Sardinia), we only need one day of good weather for all the swimmers to achieve their challenge.

The Sharks team, consisting of Jorge Pérez, Danila Novikov, and Ferran Fernández, set the absolute record for the crossing with a time of 3 hours and 10 minutes. The Dolphins team, with Fernando Pruñonosa, Pedro Travesset, Belinda McGinley, Eric Danion, and Lucas Carrascosa, completed the route in 3 hours and 30 minutes, making Belinda the new women record holder of the Strait. The Berlin team, made up of Boris Najafov, Stefan Silberbeg, and Leonie Rammelsberg, achieved a time of 4 hours and 21 minutes, making Boris the fastest swimmer to cross Bonifacio without a wetsuit.

For 2025 we only have 12 places left! You can check the info about the challenge here, and the historical ranking of the challenge until today here.

Spectacular experience again at Rhodes Marmaris. A great experience with the swim addicts, with the local skippers, with the local suppliers and with the local authorities. We felt very welcome and were able to enjoy like a real family the swim addiction and the spectacular places of Rhodes Island. We all enjoyed together and learned a lot about the people, the winds, the currents, the Aegean Sea.

There were 17 swim addicts who trusted in Neda el Món to cross from Europe to Asia, from Greece to Turkey, for the first time. We present them here, where you will be able to find the times, routes, direction of the swim... all the details of their spectacular crossing.

Next year, more and better in the Rhodes Marmaris!

Registrations open to cross the Strait of Bonifacio in 2025!

10/14/2024

Registrations are open to cross the Strait of Bonifacio with Neda el Món & ZOGGS in 2025! The Bonifacio Strait crossing by Neda el Món & ZOGGS will take place throughout the spring-summer of 2025, with 4 previous training camps on the coast of Catalonia, and which will end with the crossing in the last week of September 2025. We are starting today!

Like the Strait of Gibraltar, the Strait of Bonifacio has become one of the great challenges for open water swimmers in recent years. The Strait of Bonifacio is the maritime channel that separates the island of Corsica (France) from the island of Sardinia (Italy) and that connects the Tyrrhenian Sea with the western part of the Mediterranean Sea. The crossing is 12k long and to date all 49 swimmers who have attempted it with Neda el Món have succeeded! Spectacular! You have all the info here.

They’ve done it again! All our groups crossed from Europe to Asia on Monday, October 7, from Greece to Turkey, from Rhodes to Marmaris. A total of 13 swimaddicts completed the challenge!

Our first group was Always Somewhere, consisting of Jordi Cervera, Rohan Crouse, Ariadna Moreno, Daniel Ortiz, and Jorge Pérez, representatives of Spain and UK, with a time of 6 hours and 24 minutes. Later, the Alia team, made up of Jeremias Mateo and Tomás Meca (Spaniards without wetsuits), Paulo Torres (Portuguese with a wetsuit), and Emma Vockins (English without a wetsuit), completed the crossing in 6 hours and 45 minutes. César Augusto from Brazil and Lluís Juncà from Barcelona were part of the Allotria team, completing it in 7h 46 minutes and 7h 47 minutes respectively. Also from this group, Denis Zapevalov (Russia) crossed the finish line in 7h 57min.

All groups departed from Windy Beach in Rhodes but did not land at the same point in Turkey; the first made landfall on the Turkish island of Kizilada, the second at Cape Kalabak, and the third at Cape Goek. During the journey, the swimmers encountered a very calm sea until the final stretch, where the east to west winds and currents diverted them from their trajectory.

On Thursday, October 10, François made a spectacular solo crossing in 7h 40 minutes, one of the shortest routes to Kizilada Island, just 17.8 km!

Next year, more and better at Rhodes-Marmaris. We have already finalized the dates, and you can find all the info here.

Total Swim Addiction in Sardinia

10/1/2024

The trip to Sardinia has been a resounding success this year, especially with the two SwimHolidays experiences in the La Maddalena archipelago. During these days, participants had the opportunity to explore numerous unexplored corners of these islands, diving into their crystal-clear waters and enjoying unique marine landscapes. These swims allowed participants not only to appreciate the natural beauty of Sardinia, but also to create a close and exclusive experience for our swimmers, establishing the program as a reference in aquatic tourism.

Success was also evident in the two crossings of the Bonifacio Strait, where all swimmers achieved their goal. The perfect coordination and meticulous preparation of these events ensured a memorable experience, further enhancing the reputation of our events as an ideal combination of adventure and sport in an unparalleled natural environment.

Finally, we are filled with enthusiasm as we look to the future, eager to repeat and improve this experience next year. The results achieved in 2023 encourage us to continue innovating and offering new opportunities to discover Sardinia from the water. With such positive feedback from participants and the success of the activities, we are confident that the Nedaddictes will continue to grow and solidify alongside us to experience something truly unforgettable.
