Over 50 swim addicts have met this morning at the Bernat Picornell Swimming Pools to close the year with 100 sets of 100 meters!

In a relaxed and festive atmosphere, the swim addicts have motivated each other to complete the total 10,000 meters, which were divided into 4 blocks of 25x100m each. A large swimming pool training  to close a great open water season!

Neda World continues promoting its charitable side, keeping its position in 2013 as the open water swims organization which contributed more money to charitable causes. And this was thanks especially to our flagship event, the L'Estartit - Medes Islands crossing which will allocate 100% of its profits to the TV3 Marathon and more specifically to the study and research of neurodegenerative diseases.

Sunday, during the TV3 Marathon show, we will deposit € 3428 thanks mainly to the involvement of hundreds of swim addicts who came to the 4th edition of the crossing, and thanks also to the four entities from L'Estartit that are involved: City of Torroella Montgri, Estartit Yacht Club, the Natural Park of L'Estartit and Medes and the Nautical Estartit Medes.

Many thanks to you all! We are very proud to contribute our little grain of sand in the investigation of neurodegenerative diseases!

The swimmer María Peláez, 5 times Olympic between 1992 and 2008 and currently founder of EnPiscina2, is the new member of the Neda Món team!

Specialist in the study and detailed technical analysis of the swimmers, as well as technification for swim coaches, she joins our team to manage the area in and around Madrid.

One of Maria's first tasks will be closing an Open Water Clinic in Madrid that will be held over the coming months.

The Swim the World Club is unstoppable and gives a qualitative leap with the agreement just concluded with the Bernat Picornell swimming pools.

As from December, the activities of the Swim the World Club will be held in these fantastic facilities, venue of two FINA World Championships and the Barcelona '92 Olympic Games. In addition, the Swim the World Club starts a new training group, with two sessions a week.

Big success in the 4th edition of the L'Estartit - Medes Islands crossing for the TV3 Marathon! It is fully booked with 550 registrations and we can only congratulate again all the swim addicts for your commitment to the TV3 Marathon and the open water swimming. You are great!

The 4th crossing L'Estartit - Medes Islands for the TV3 Marathon that will be hold next November 1 is since last year in memory of our friend Alex Lorente.

Alex was a marine biologist and expert in Montgrí, Medes Islands and Baix Ter Natural Park, besides a land and underwater nature photographer. From the first moment Alex thrown himself into the project of a crossing in L'Estartit for the TV3 Marathon, and actively collaborated in the first two editions.

This crossing is for you, Alex! We miss you!

Neda el Món will close the season on 1 November 2013 with the 4th edition of the crossing l’Estartit - Medes Islands for the TV3 Marathon, a charity crossing where 100% of profits will go to research on neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's, multiple sclerosis or Parkinson's disease.

It's been a fantastic season with a clinic and eight crossings , including the 1st edition of the Medes - Formigues ( 22.3 km ) and the 2nd edition of the Straits of Gibraltar (16 km), which has made Neda el Món become the most successful company in the Straits. 32 swimmers have made their dream of reaching Africa come true wearing the Neda el Món cap, thanks in large part to the excellent work done by the Neda el Món Club coach, Jonathan Gomez.

L’Estartit - Medes will certainly be a fantastic conclusion to an exceptional season , but Neda el Món will not stop the machinery, as we are already working on many news for next season 2014. New crossings , new clinics and new experiences for you to make the most of your swim addiction.

First, however , we are looking forward to see you in this solidarity party  that will be the crossing l’Estartit – Medes Islands. Let’s meet on November 1st!

It is only a few weeks left for one of the most special events in the Neda el Món calendar, the crossing L'Estartit - Medes Islands for  the TV3 Marathon which this year reaches its fourth edition.

Once again it will be an event of solidarity, since 100% of the profits will be donated to the TV3 Marathon, this year dedicated to neurodegenerative diseases. A good reason to share a fantastic day in the beautiful surroundings of Montgrí Natural Park, the Medes Islands and Baix Ter.

For fourth consecutive year, Neda el Món - Swim the World organise a swim with charitable causes: 4th Estartit Illes Medes, in Costa Brava, Girona, next 1st November. You can choose two different distances: 3,000 m and 4,700 m, swimming around bigger Meda Gran. All benefits of this events will be invested in "Marató de TV3", a famous show in Catalan TV, this year dedicated to the neurodegenerative diseases. You can register now here.

Neda el Món has become the organisation with more succesful swims on the Strait of Gibraltar. This year 20 swimmers tried to reach Africa from Tarifa and all 20 swimmers succeeded. Neda el Món has already 32 swimmers who reached Africa swimming with us: a world record!! We have to thank our coach Jonathan Gómez and congratulate all the swimmers: Una, Sarah, David, Pepe, Javi, Ton, Amadeo, Vicente, Borja, Alfredo, Ferran, Oriol Gil, John, Jimmy, Oscar , Greg, Oriol Sabidó, Marc, Tatxo and Angel!

Neda el Món is already in Tarifa, where 20 swimmers from Ireland, Australia and Spain are going to swim the Strait of Gibraltar in the next 15 days. First swim is going to be tomorrow 24th August with our Irish group and the last one group will swim no longer than 8th September. We have news regarding Transfronterera next July the 6th. From the suggestion of some of you, we have designed for this year Transfronterera 6600m. You can choose any of the two distances. Or Transfronterera 3300 (Cerbère - Portbou) or Transfronterera 6600 (Portbou - Cerbère - Portbou). You can find all the info here.

The balance of the first Medes - Formigues crossing held last Saturday 22nd June was almost perfect ... Up to 16 of the 17 swimmers who started from the Medes Islands to conquer the Formigues Islands, succeeded on the challenge... An impressive feat! 2013 Neda el Món season is here! On April 28th, we are going to swim the lovely 3rd Prades Siurana, and on May 19th, the 3rd round to Sa Dragonera isle (Mallorca), spectacular as always. We worked hard this winter to offer the best events and the best services to the swimmers, improving our Clinics and our Online Store, with the new and cheaper Mako wetsuits, our Neda el Món swimsuits and our Neda el Món buoy. Only three weeks to swim again!
